The old town of Nice is a real labyrinth of narrow streets, old houses, market squares and many restaurants, shops and art galleries. Its unique architectural appearance is created by palaces, churches, two clock towers, a medieval fort and many rich villas. Most of the buildings of Old Nice are made in the Baroque style, which indicates the Italian origin of the city. Here are such noteworthy objects as: the Chapel of Mercy, the Cathedral of St. Reparata, the Opera House, the House of Justice, the building of the Old Senate, the Laskari Palace and many other remarkable monuments.
