National Marc Chagall Museum
Marc Chagall Museum, Musee National Marc Chagall, Marc Chagall's Bible Message
France, Nice
The Marc Chagall National Museum has been located since 1973 in a building specially built for it, surrounded by a wonderful garden. The artist himself, until his last days, took an active part in the work of the museum - he designed several rooms, created a mosaic panel and stained-glass windows especially for the museum, and also arranged the paintings according to his vision and ideas. The basis of the museum exposition is the famous cycle of the "Bible message", consisting of 17 paintings on the subjects of the Old Testament. Other works of the artist are also exhibited here - paintings of the early period of creativity, sketches, sculptures, engravings, mosaics and stained glass windows. The museum regularly hosts lectures, temporary exhibitions, classical music concerts and other cultural events.
