The cathedral began to be erected under the Merovingians on the ruins of a church of the 6th century. Due to the long construction period, the architectural style of the cathedral is heterogeneous: the oldest part of the building, which overlooks the Saone River, is Romanesque, while the eastern part, with the main facade, is Gothic. Adjacent to the cathedral is the building of the church singing school of the 11th century, which today houses the museum of the treasury of the cathedral. There you can see objects from the Byzantine era collected in the 19th century: jewelry, church vestments, tapestries, etc.→
