There is a monument to Frederic Mistral on the Place du Forum. This is a true legend of Provence, the uncrowned king of Provencal poetry, Nobel Prize in Literature (1904) and creator of the famous Dictionary of Provence. A native of these places, he was a fierce champion of the Provencal language, and he spent the Nobel Prize he received on the creation of a museum of local history and life in Arles. A monument to Mistral was erected on the square in 1909.→
