The gardens were created on the highest cliff of Etretat, commissioned by the French actress Madame Th? beault. She was inspired by the paintings of Claude Monet, who, in turn, adored Etretat. For many years the gardens were privately owned and closed to the public. Everything changed when the former Russian opera singer Marc Dumas bought Madame Th? beault, while his architect friend Alexander Grivko restored the gardens and created an extraordinary new version of them. The gardens were only opened to the public in September 2016.→
