Hallituskatu Street in Rovaniemi houses the Lappia Palace, the Library and the City Hall, designed by the famous architect Alvar Alto. Here, in 1988, a huge monument to Kain Tempers was erected, in memory of the restoration of Lapland, destroyed during the Second World War.
