Lapland Forest Museum

The Forest Museum is located in the open air among the mountains covered with forests, on the shores of Lake Sallijärvi. It belongs to the Lapland Forest Museum Association. The museum presents forestry traditions that tell about the history of logging and timber rafting in Lapland.
On the territory there are numerous buildings, objects of material culture, photographs illustrating the colorful and at the same time exhausting life and work of Lapland workers in logging in the first half of the 20th century.
The museum is open during the summer, from Tuesday to Sunday. At other times, tours are available only by prior arrangement.
