Assumption Cathedral - the cathedral church of the Helsinki diocese of the Finnish Archdiocese. It was built according to the design of the Russian architect A. M. Gornostaev in the pseudo-Byzantine style in 1868. Named in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
At the moment, the Assumption Cathedral is the largest Orthodox cathedral in Northern and Western Europe (at the time of construction, Finland was part of the Russian Empire). The total height of the structure is 51 meters.
