Finland, Helsinki
Seurasaari is an island and district in Helsinki connected to the mainland by a wooden footbridge. Here is an open-air museum of Finnish folk architecture, consisting of old, mostly wooden buildings, transported from different parts of the country. There are 85 different buildings on the territory of the museum: a priest's house, huts, outbuildings and saunas, sheds and stables, water and windmills, barns, the history of which is told to visitors by guides dressed in national costumes.
On the territory of the Seurasaari Museum, folklore festivals and folk festivals are held, where folk groups perform with songs, dances and children's performances. On Easter and the feast of Ivan Kupala, huge bonfires are lit here, and in the summer, wedding ceremonies are held on the island in an old church.
