One of the attractions of Girona are colorful houses lined along the river Onyar. Their construction dates back to the 17th century, after the houses were repeatedly rebuilt, but retained their very photogenic appearance. Buildings grew on the site of the demolished city wall; instead of the foundation, these houses were built on the plinth that remained from the wall.→
