Loro Park or Parrot Park (loro in Spanish means parrot) is one of the main attractions of Tenerife. This is a mixture of a zoo, a botanical garden and a circus.

The park is located 3 km west of the city. Its area is 125 thousand sq. km. Founded in 1972. About 2 thousand parrots belonging to 300 species live in the park.

Right at the entrance to the park, you can see the bronze cockatoo, which is the symbol of the park. Tourists can admire only a small part of the birds that are kept in enclosures, 1 pair in each enclosure. The remaining birds are intended for reproduction, thus protecting rare species.

In addition to amazing parrots, you can see tigers, gorillas, chimpanzees, crocodiles, turtles, pelicans, crowned cranes and flamingos in the park. There is an aquarium with numerous species of fish. A separate showcase contains Canarian fish. Display cases with bats are equipped in natural caves.

In addition, the park has a Thai village, which is a complex of six wooden buildings with roofs.
Shows are held in the park: 20-minute performances with parrots, dolphins, fur seals. There you can see parrots rollerblading, fur seals climbing stairs, dolphins singing songs and waving their fins.

Also in Loro Park there is a penguinarium. This is a special room in which the temperature regime necessary for the life of penguins is maintained. This penguinarium is considered the largest in the world.
