In the 19th century, construction work was carried out in Tarragona to expand the city, most of the ruins of the Roman forum were demolished. Now here you can see fragments of an ancient basilica built during the time of Emperor Augustus. Several columns and a nave have been preserved from it. Part of the temple and the remains of some houses and streets have also been preserved.
