On the New Rambla there is a monument to the traditional Catalan round dance - the sardana. Sculptor Josep Brull. The opening of the monument was timed to coincide with the proclamation of Tarragona in 1973 as the capital of Sardana. Moreover, the elections of the "main city of Sardana" are held in Catalonia annually.→
