The building of the Carmelite Church and Convent is one of the most interesting examples of Catalan Art Nouveau in Tarragona. The architect Pau Mongio y Segura actively used a combination of brick cladding with stone in the design of the facade. The Neo-Gothic spire of the temple, the work of Josep Maria Jujol, also makes a vivid impression. This church is very popular with the inhabitants of Tarragona; weddings are often held here.
