In the courtyard of the City Council (Plaza de la Font, 1) is the Mausoleum of the Aragonese King Jaime I. It was created by the modernist architect Luis Domè nech i Montaner. Access is free. The symbolism of the ship is used with a hint of the king's naval conquests. On the stern and on the bow of this "funeral vessel" the architect placed a sculpture of an angel with a Catalan flag and a female figure with a crown in her hands. These characters carry the king from earthly life to eternal life.→
