The Cathedral of Seville is so large that it is simply impossible to touch it from the outside in any way. It does not fit into a single composition like Mesquita in Cordoba, despite its also impressive size. The cathedral was built on the site of a mosque. The Giralda (former minaret) and the orange courtyard remained from the mosque. Even at the time of its construction, the cathedral amazed the townspeople with its size, and the inhabitants of Seville said: “Descendants will consider us mad because we decided to build a temple of such beauty and such dimensions.→
