Palace of the Countess de Lebriha

Palace of the Countess of Lebrija, Palacio de Lebrija, Palacio de la Condesa de Lebrija, Seville Lebrija Palace
Spain, Seville
Like many historical buildings in Seville, the palace of the Countess de Lebriha is worthy of the most admiring reviews and enthusiastic epithets. The 16th century building, owned and restored by the Comtesse de Lebriha in the 20th century, now houses a museum with an impressive collection of medieval, oriental, antique and Spanish art. Visitors will be amazed by the lush interiors of the exhibition halls; mosaic floors found in the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Italica; a painted wooden ceiling from Marchena Castle; rich library; antique statues, a collection of Roman vases, columns and sculptures.
The antique collection is on the ground floor. The second floor can be accessed as part of a guided tour, during which the guide takes visitors through a series of rooms and halls, decorated in different styles, full of unique interior items, paintings and furniture. The tour is conducted immediately in two languages (Spanish and English) and lasts about 45 minutes.
This is a well-preserved house with a unique combination of Roman mosaics, statues and Spanish flair.

The palace was built in the 16th century. In 1901, the Countess de Lebrija (Dona Regla Manjon) bought the palace from the Counts of Miraflores and spent the next thirteen years restoring it. The countess was passionate about archeology, and since 1922 she was a member of the Commission for Historical and Artistic Monuments of Seville.
