House of Sarda

Casa Sarda, Casa Sarda
Spain, Reus
Sarda House was built in 1896 and is located a stone's throw from Prat de la Riba. The architect of the project was Pere Caselles, who owns most of the Art Nouveau buildings in Reus, and the Roman poet Sarda became the customer. Gothic elements and motifs of Moorish architecture are captured in the facade of the building. On the top floor of the house there are windows framed by arches in the shape of a shamrock. The façade is crowned with ten consoles with floral ornaments.

Casa Sarda, address: Av. Prat de la Riba, 41. Architect Pere Caselles, built in 1896. The building was created for the writer Sard and is considered an example of early modernism. In the design of the facade, characteristic motifs of Moorish architecture (arches in the form of a shamrock), Gothic (rosettes and brackets) and Art Nouveau (forged balcony lattices of the second and third floors) can be traced.
