Almuden Cathedral is opposite the Royal Palace. Its construction lasted more than a century, and the solemn consecration by the Pope took place in 1993. The cathedral was built of granite and marble in neo-gothic style with elements of romanticism. Its interior is decorated with wall paintings and sculptures of saints, and the green marble altar is also notable.
