Plaza de Cibeles is located near the Prado National Museum. It appeared in the middle of the 16th century. Here are the building of the National Bank of Spain, the palaces Cibeles, Buenavista and Linares. But the main decoration of the Plaza de Cibeles, which attracts many tourists, is a magnificent fountain, installed at the end of the 18th century: in the center of the composition is the goddess of fertility Cybele in a chariot drawn by a pair of lions.
