The Reina Sofia Art Center is the second largest and most famous museum in Madrid after the
Prado National Museum, located to the south of it. It was founded in 1986 as an exhibition center and became a museum six years later. The museum is located in the building of an old hospital. It houses collections of works of art, among which a special place is occupied by paintings by Spanish avant-garde artists - Picasso, Dali, Miro, Gris, including the famous "Guernica" by Pablo Picasso.
