Colomares Castle in Benalmadena symbolizes the journey of Columbus, which led to the discovery of America. It was built between 1987 and 1994 by Dr. Esteban Martin with two assistants to celebrate the 500th anniversary of this momentous event. When creating the castle, materials such as brick, stone and cement were used. Thanks to his deep knowledge of history and architecture, Dr. Martin managed to create a unique work that tells the story of the discovery of America, as well as the history of Spain of that time, embodied in stone.
