Walking path Prayer path

Rosari Monumental de Montserrat, Path of the Rosary
Spain, Costa Brava
The Path of Prayer is one of the most popular hiking trails on Montserrat. The route connects Monserrat Monastery with the Holy Cave, along the way there are religious sculptures that tell about the different stages of the life of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Such outstanding masters as Antonio Gaudi, Puig and Cadafalch, Josep Limona and the Vlmidzhana brothers took part in the construction. The path starts from Cross Square and lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Among the classic hiking trails in Montserrat, one of the most interesting is the Path of Prayer leading to the Holy Cave. You can cover part of the route using the Santa Cova funicular (one-way price 2.20 euros; round-trip 3.50 euros), but you still have to walk part of the way. The road is easy, flat, wide and fenced. It was built in 1691-1704. The construction was associated with incredible financial costs and difficulties associated with a large elevation difference, which is why the people also call this road "silver".
