There are two funiculars on Montserrat mountain: Funicular de Sant Joan and Funicular de Santa Cova. The funicular Sant Joan connects the central part of the monastery of Montserrat with the hermitage of St. John. The funicular moves almost along a sheer cliff, its route has the steepest slope of all funiculars in Spain (the maximum gradient is 65%). Great views from above + the opportunity to walk along one of the hiking trails of Montserrat. If you have time, then you can also go down to the Monastery on foot.→
