The Albaicín quarter is the oldest part of modern Granada, which has come down to our days from the time of Moorish rule in Spain. The area is notable for its medieval ornate streets, colorful buildings in the best traditions of Muslim architecture, an abundance of restaurants and shops.
Rising on a hill north of the Darro River, the Albaicín area, along with its main attraction, the
Alhambra architectural complex, are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
