Royal Chapel
Capilla Real
Spain, Granada
The Royal Chapel is one of the main attractions of Granada, marking the period of the reign of the Catholic kings and the end of the centuries-old Reconquista.
The chapel was founded at the beginning of the 16th century in honor of Saints John the Baptist and John the Evangelist. Here is the tomb of prominent Spanish rulers: Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile, on whose orders the chapel was founded.
Currently, a museum functions within the walls of the Royal Chapel.
