Burgos Cathedral was built on the model of the Catholic cathedrals in Paris and Reims and contains many amazing treasures - magnificent stained glass windows and paintings, unique altars and gravestones, the famous "Golden Staircase" and much more.
The cathedral is also known for the fact that the remains of the national hero of Spain Cid Campeador and his wife Jimena Diaz are buried here. There are also some artifacts related to the life and exploits of the famous Spaniard.
Now Burgos Cathedral is divided into two zones: liturgical and tourist. To admire the rest of the temple, see its main treasures and museums, you need to buy a ticket.

Through the arch of the gates of Santa Maria, we will exit to San Fernando Square in front of the Cathedral dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady. The construction of the cathedral began in 1221. According to legend, the first stone was laid by King Fernando III himself. The cathedral, of course, was rebuilt more than once. The most ancient: the southern facade, the main nave and the courtyard. The Cathedral is considered one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings, entrance is paid, part of the Cathedral is reserved for a museum, photography without a flash is allowed, with the exception of some rooms.
