Inspection of the Gothic Quarter began with the main cathedral. Outside is impressive. Unfortunately, we didn't get inside. It seems that they came at the office hours, but the tourists were sent to the “backyard”, due to the fact that there was a service (it was on Sunday). Very sorry. But the "backyard" did not let us down - a huge amount of greenery within the religious building is really unusual and very nice. Especially the famous geese.

The place where you can now see the most beautiful Gothic Cathedral of the Holy Cross from the 4th century BC. e. was sacred. The current version of the temple was built from the 13th to the 15th century according to the drawings of the Rouen Cathedral. Interestingly, Eulalia is revered not only by Catholics, but also by Orthodox Christians. At the end of 2006, an almost one-of-a-kind Orthodox prayer service was held in the Cathedral in a Catholic church. In the Cathedral of Saint Eulalia, you can see 26 chapels, each of which is unique and many stained-glass windows through which a large amount of light enters here.

The cathedral looks majestic and somehow very strict. It struck me that they don't light candles in churches. Instead, you throw a coin into a special hole - and in response, a flashlight, designed in the form of a candle, lights up. Come down and see for yourself. And in the inner courtyard of the cathedral there is a pond with goldfish. This is a place with its own history and a large number of tourists. Once upon a time, geese settled here, which are now considered one of the sights of the city.
