Santa Maria del Pi is still considered one of the most striking examples of Gothic Christian architecture (the building dates back to the 14th century). The strict facade is decorated with an entrance-portal, above it there is a rose-window with stained-glass windows (by the way, today it is considered one of the largest in the world). The church has another distinctive feature (although not architectural anymore) - a pine tree growing in the square in front of the church. The prefix "del Pi" means something like "with a pine tree" - apparently, in order to confirm the name, this pine tree was planted at the end of the 20th century.→
