The object number two in importance in Barcelona (after the Sagrada Familia). We love parks and nature, and we, accordingly, really enjoyed it. It's hard to describe, you have to watch. Let's just say the park is at the foot of the mountain including the mountain. Tickets to the Monumental Zone were bought very well in advance. There is no audio guide here, they give out a brochure (it is quite enough). It took 2 hours to visit the Monumental Zone. Then we went to the free zone, took a leisurely stroll, with stops to listen to music, and had a picnic.

The history of the park began in 1900, when Eusebi Gü ell commissioned Antonio Gaudí to create a garden city on a mountain near Barcelona. Gü ell hoped that he would be able to sell 60 plots on the territory of the new complex, but only two houses were sold (Gaudi himself lived in one of the houses for many years and now his house-museum is located there). What to pay attention to? 1. Gingerbread houses at the entrance to the park. Gaudi came up with them under the impression of the opera Hansel and Gretel.

The park is very interesting for its sculptures - these are "gingerbread" houses at the entrance, and mosaic benches, which are comfortable to sit / lie on, and unique "trees" - roots, branches, undulating tunnels - the hand of the great master is felt in everything. If you climb the mountain, you can see the center of Barcelona with its surroundings. Entrance to the park is free, and you can spend the whole day there, so if time permits, set aside at least half a day for the park.
