The National Museum of Art of Catalonia is a museum in Barcelona, ​​created in 1990 as a result of the merger of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Art of Catalonia. The museum is a consortium of the city of Barcelona and the Ministry of Culture of Catalonia.

The museum's collection of romances is considered one of the most complete in the world. The core of the museum's Gothic collection is Catalan easel painting and sculpture. The art of the Baroque and Renaissance is presented more modestly due to the lesser significance of Catalonia at that time, but nevertheless, the museum has significant works of art of the 16th-18th centuries and not only Catalan. The art nouveau collection brings together famous works of Catalan art of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries.

The museum has a numismatic and engraving departments, as well as a universal and art library. In addition to exhibition activities in permanent and changing exhibitions, the museum is engaged in restoration and conservation work.
