The Royal Square is a real collection of Gothic buildings and the setting for the daily history of medieval Barcelona. So, for example, they say, although there is no documentary evidence for this, that it was on this square that Kings Fernando and Isabella received Christopher Columbus, who returned from his first voyage to America. On the square are located: - Grand Royal Palace (Palau Reial Major). Now it is the Frederic Mares Museum and the Historical City Museum; - The Governor's Palace (Palau del Lloctinent), which today houses the Archive of the Royal Dynasty of Aragon.→
