The Governor's Palace is located in the Gothic Quarter on Placa del Rei (not to be confused with Place Royale). It was built in the middle of the 16th century as the official residence of the vicegerent of the king and combines the features of late Gothic and early Renaissance. Now the archive of the royal dynasty of Aragon is stored here, sometimes exhibitions are held in the palace.

On the Royal Square (Pla? a del Rei), the Governor's Palace is located, combining the architecture of the late Gothic and early Renaissance. It was built in the 16th century for the emissary of the king (viceroy) in Barcelona. The building has three facades, each facing a different street. Now the palace houses the Archive of the Royal Dynasty of Aragon. Pay attention to the drains of the building, they are made in the form of monsters and seem to echo the same figures on the facade of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia.
