On Barceloneta Square (Plaç a de la Barceloneta) is located, built in the Baroque style, the Church of San Miguel del Port (l'esglesia de Sant Miquel del Port). The temple was built on the model of the Jesuit churches of Rome (18th century). Initially, the building was low, so as not to interfere with the cannons from the fortress of Ciutadella to freely bombard the harbor. Later, the church was completed and expanded.
