Sharm El Sheikh old market

Old Market Sharm el Sheikh, Sharm Old Market, Old Market
Egypt, Sharm el-Sheikh
The Old Market is a large oriental bazaar. It is located in the southwestern part of Sharm el-Sheikh, near the Iberotel Palace 5 * and Dessole Seti Sharm 4 * hotels. The entrance to the market is marked by a huge gate made in the ancient Egyptian style. Shopping centers and numerous street cafes are open until late here. At the market, you can buy souvenirs, products made from camel and crocodile skin, Egyptian cotton, fruits and much more at reasonable prices.

Were in October 2021 at the market in the Old Town on the advice of locals. The impressions are the most unpleasant. Poor quality product at exorbitant prices. So, they made purchases in the Leather store near the waterfall. The seller told tales that the belt was made of camel skin, and the purse was made of calf skin. It turned out to be leatherette, which you can buy from us three times cheaper. And so in almost every store. A lot of time is spent on communication with them is not very pleasant.

I visit the market in the Old Town quite often. It is not the cheapest fruits and vegetables in the city, but the choice is very large. If something cannot be found somewhere else, then it is more likely to be found here. You just need to walk around and compare prices before buying: the cost of the same thing in shops adjacent to each other can differ almost at times. It is also better to choose Egyptian souvenirs, hookahs, suitcases, bags, oils and spices in the Old City - a very large selection and reasonable prices.

SHOPPING IN EGYPT. SHOPING EGYPT. SHOPPING IN SHARM EL SHEIKH. SHOPING SHARM EL SHEIKH. SHOPPING OLD TOWN and SOHO. SHOPING OLD CITY AND SOHO. SHOPPING NAAMA BAY. SHOPING NAAMA BAY. In March 2018, compared to last year (April 2017), the prices became completely illogical, but there are also pluses, for example, they finally sold out all the junk that we saw last year. Moreover, what is interesting is that now, when we were now, and according to our feelings (both when we walked the streets and when we were taking tourists on excursions) and what we heard from tourists from other hotels and from partisan guides - almost tourists no, namely: out of 150 hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, less than a third (something about 45 hotels) are working, which are 25-30% full.

Tip one: you are not even interested in where this old market is located - you can also buy everything at a lower price at any hotel or near it. Everything is the same and so is the price! Tip two: if you want an unforgettable experience like some smiling creature will fuck you - go boldly! You will be abused and deceived. Threat. Special greetings to the scarecrow from 4 stores on the right at the entrance to the square - a rare creature, took out half of the parts from the hookah packaging. Spit in his face again from me.

Sometime in 2008 when we first visited Egypt, we were in the Old Market, the impression was not very good. After that, they tried not to look there, so as not to spoil their impression of the country and people. In 2016 visited again to buy fruit. DO NOT BUY fruit from the shop located to the left of the Fisherman restaurant (somewhere fourth in a row). Bought a lot of papaya and mango as a gift. Absolutely everything was not ripe and not edible. Nearby there is a pharmacy with fixed inexpensive prices and a good selection.

Oh, here you can feel the very spirit of the Eastern markets, when you have to practically fight with the sellers so as not to buy unnecessary goods) In fact, everything is not so bad, but the obsession here is going through the roof. I liked haggling, this is also its own special kind of entertainment here.

Beautiful, colorful. I remember the artificial waterfall at the entrance. Sellers are different - both polite, friendly, and intrusive, rude, and even those who can throw a couple of unkind words if you don’t buy anything from them. The assortment of goods is ordinary, there are no unique things here, but you can bargain well if you know how.

Big Oriental Bazaar. An interesting waterfall as you enter and immediately turn right. You can bargain - as a rule, I managed to bargain from 30 to 50%. Late evening music - oriental aura.. .
