Tiran Island

Tiran Island
Egypt, Sharm el-Sheikh
Tiran is an island located at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba (Red Sea), between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, in the immediate vicinity of the city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

There are four coral reefs in the strait between Sinai and the island: Jackson, Gordon, Woodhouse and Thomas. The reefs are named after the English officers who once described these places. All but Gordon Reef are sheer walls lined with magnificent corals. The wildlife of the coral reefs around the island is very popular with tourists. Excursions are regularly sent to Tiran Island. The beauty of its underwater world is considered one of the best in Egypt. However, disembarkation is not welcomed by the Egyptian authorities. Some of the island's beaches are mined.

EXCURSIONS - prices for excursions in Egypt have increased significantly. ATTENTION - VERY IMPORTANT: your Voucher number matches the insurance number (SHOULD MATCH), therefore, when buying an excursion, CAREFULLY look at the receipt so that the CORRECT number of your Voucher is indicated, and not someone else's !! ! We decided NOT to risk and NOT to buy excursions on the street and from beach barkers. The situation in Egypt is unstable, terrorist attacks and the like, so they wanted to be sure of the operator.

There were many Russians in our group, most even, so it was calm and fun. We made three stops for an hour, the water is clear, you can see everything to the very bottom. It was possible to dive, but we just swam with a mask. The ship impressed me the most. The price of the tour includes drinks and lunch.

Take a trip here for the whole day - you will not regret it. Immediately about the cons: let's say they cook on the ship . . in non-European conditions. But after a hungry and tiring day, you don’t really look at hygiene. If possible, buy diving equipment in advance and bring it with you, it will be much cheaper. And as for the pluses - unforgettable impressions, a lot of pleasure, very beautiful underwater landscapes.

The island itself is of no interest, but the feeling that you are on the island is present. The reefs near the island are interesting and diving yachts stop there. This is a vacation on a yacht in the open sea. Diving there and near the hotel is different as swimming in the open sea and near the beach. Tip: whoever gets sick, take pills for motion sickness with you.
