There are two reefs in the bay, each of them is grazing turtles. The main thing is to swim out to the fields where there is grass. Literally in 5 minutes. you can always find a huge turtle. Sometimes schools of fish swim. Dugong has not yet met (

Huge turtles live in the bay, up to 1.5 meters in diameter. They chew grass on the sand in the middle of the bay, come up to breathe, lay eggs on the beach. There are not many tourists, so they are not very afraid of them yet. The spectacle is indescribable, when a 200-year-old creature pops up nearby, you feel awe. They say that sometimes a sea cow (dugong) swims, but we did not observe it in this bay, but we saw it in another place where we sailed on a yacht as a separate excursion. On both sides of the bay there are living reefs, which are very densely populated with all living creatures.

There are 2 5 * hotels on the territory of the reserve - Hilton and El Malikia Resort Abu Dabbab (formerly called Sol Y Mar). I fell in love with this place when I was on an excursion in October 2012 (I'm attaching a photo). I saw beautiful fish, I almost rode a turtle (they didn’t let me), but she pooped me, and you won’t forget this! I managed to get to Solymar (January 2013) and see the Dugong on the last day! To live in this place is just extraordinary happiness for a lover of fish and corals! Recommend!.

we went to Abu Dabab bay 2 times in September 2015. it is only 10 minutes from the Kahramana Beach Resort 5 * hotel, go by the hotel bus, but for a fee -2 euros per person. there is a sand lagoon (in the center of the bay), and 2 reefs on the sides. I don’t like hanging out on the sand in the shallows, although when we went for the second time it was very windy, there were waves, and I just swayed on the waves near the shore. What is interesting about the reefs: they stand at a very shallow depth - only 2-3 meters, on white sand, so the sun reflects off the sand and plays on the reefs, and it is very convenient to look at corals and fish.
