Sculpture Great Sphinx

Great Sphinx of Giza
Egypt, Cairo
The Great Sphinx on the west bank of the Nile at Giza is the oldest monumental sculpture on Earth. Carved from a monolithic limestone rock in the form of a colossal sphinx - a lion lying on the sand, whose face - as has long been considered - is given a portrait resemblance to the pharaoh Khafre (c. 2575-2465 BC), whose funerary pyramid is located nearby. The length of the statue is 73 meters, the height is 20 meters; between the front paws there was once a small sanctuary.

The Sphinx is worth a look. It is located in Cairo. How is it to be in Egypt and not look at the sphinx and the pyramids. We were there in 2021 for the second time. The first time we saw him was 5 years ago. What can I say, it was dug up very well and continues to be dug up. But there are a lot of people who want to take photos there. Straight crowds. Very closely. It is necessary to seize the moment so that there are fewer people. There are always people there, regardless of the day of the week, there are always more people on holidays and weekends.

Nice big building! Looks amazing against the backdrop of the pyramids. And the photos in front of him are wonderful. That's just for visiting Giza, we chose May in vain, nuuu is very hot. It is definitely worth seeing, for the sake of the pyramids and the Sphinx, we went to Egypt in general.

We were on an excursion in Cairo and the pyramids in January 2016, a very comfortable time for walking and enjoying the sights! I liked the sculpture of the Sphinx, I was impressed! Anyone who is interested in knowing about the history of Egypt should visit here!

A lot has been written about the Sphinx, a lot has been filmed, and it is not a fact that your impressions when visiting it will coincide with the ideas about it that have developed earlier. I can only say - despite the heat, I did not want to leave him. It strikes with its size and the secret that it hides - this is perhaps the first thing that comes to mind when remembering the Sphinx. I will definitely come back to see this miracle again.

It was an interesting excursion, I liked everything, but a lot of things alerted me! Being a fan of the theory of Fomenko and Nosovsky ...I revised my photographs, as they were taken before I learned about the new chronology ...therefore, I propose to study the Sphinx more closely ...yes ...perhaps ...it was restored, you say ...you have the right to think so ....Like all of us, IMHO. : )

unforgettable impressions after what he saw, the sculpture is 21 meters. it's incredibly huge. Maybe it's because I've never seen more sculptures))) Of course the sculpture needs restoration, but still it is magnificent) I went with a tour company, which is called, "walk around the world" or "walk around the world", or "around the world" in general, if you need to look, it provides excellent services. They managed not to spoil the trip)) Right now, to be honest, this is an achievement. I advise everyone to go to Egypt and sign up for a tour, get an incredible experience.
