The village of Saqqara is located 30 kilometers south of Cairo. Here is the oldest ancient Egyptian necropolis, its age is more than 3.5 thousand years. It contains 11 pyramids discovered during excavations in the middle of the 19th century. The centerpiece of the complex is the Pyramid of Djoser. Thousands of tourists come to the village all year round.
