Toompea Castle is a medieval fortress on the hill of the same name in the center of Tallinn. It is one of the oldest and largest architectural complexes in Estonia.
The fortress was built in the 13th-14th centuries on the steep slope of the Toompea hill, at an altitude of 50 meters above sea level. For several centuries, the castle building has always been one of the main symbols of the ruling power in the country. Today, the castle houses the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia.
