Observation deck at the Patkul stairs

Patkuli trepp, Patkul's ladder
Estonia, Tallinn
The Patkul Staircase was opened in 1903 and named after Friedrich von Patkul, the Lieutenant Governor of Estonia. Now it is an observation deck from where you can admire the Gulf of Finland and the ferries leaving for Stockholm and Helsinki. Also visible are the towers of the Old Town, Schnelli Park, the Dome Cathedral and the train station.

If, while in Tallinn, you want to take a selfie against the backdrop of the Old Town, then there is no better place than the observation deck at the Patkul stairs. You can climb the stairs from the side of the Baltic Station. This spacious observation deck offers beautiful panoramic views of the city and the sea. There are also several souvenir shops and cafes.
