The State Museum of Art is located in the north of the city. It was founded in 1896. The museum building was built in the style of the Italian Renaissance, and a new wing was added to it a century later. The museum presents an extensive collection of paintings and sculptures by European masters of various eras from the Renaissance to the present day - Rembrandt, Rubens, Titian, Modigliani, Picasso, including the famous painting by Andrea Mantegna "Christ the Redeemer".
