Germany, Nuremberg
The sculpture "Ship of Fools" was installed in 1987 on the Plobenhofstrasse street in Nuremberg. The monument was erected in honor of the German satirist Sebastian Brant, who published the poem "Ship of Fools" in 1494. The bronze sculpture, 3.6 meters high, depicts a ship on which fools sail to the land of stupidity called Narragonia. The sculpture was designed by Jurgen Weber in duplicate, the second monument is located in the city Hameln.

The author of the sculpture (Jü rgen Weber) was inspired by the medieval satirical poem "Ship of Fools" by Sebastian Brant. Human vices and weaknesses in the form of fools sailing into the country of stupidity...It stimulates well to think about your own vices : )
