hamburg town hall
Hamburg Rathaus (City Hall), Hamburg Town Hall
Germany, Hamburg
The modern neo-Renaissance building of Hamburg Town Hall was rebuilt in 1897 after a devastating fire in 1842. The Town Hall, with a clock tower 112 meters high, with twenty statues of German emperors, located around, has 647 rooms and is located on the banks of the Elbe River, in the center of the Old Town. In the courtyard there is a fountain in memory of the victory over the cholera epidemic of 1892, in honor of Hygieia, the patroness of health, from whose image, in ancient Greek mythology, one of the signs of medicine comes - a bowl with a snake.
