The Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt am Main is the second largest natural history museum in Germany. The museum, built in 1904-1907, is named after Johann Christian Senckenberg, a German physician, naturalist and collector who lived in the 18th century. In front of the museum building, you can see sculptures of various dinosaurs - the museum has a large collection of their skeletons. The museum houses one of the most diverse and largest collections of stuffed birds in the world with 2,000 specimens. There are also fossils of the Eocene era found in the Messel coal mine - mammals, amphibians, birds, insects, etc. In addition, the museum has an interesting collection of meteorites and crystals.
