The Palm Garden is one of the two botanical gardens in Frankfurt am Main, located in the southwest of the city near the
Grueneburg Park and the Main Botanical Garden. Palmengarten, with an area of 22 hectares, was opened in 1871. There are pavilions-greenhouses with tropical plants, the main of which is the eighteen-meter glass house "Palmenhaus". The Tropicarium pavilion presents various tropical landscapes: savannah, wet desert, monsoon rainforest. The Palm Garden has a large lake where you can rent a boat. In the spring, visitors come to admire the blooming of the Victoria water lily, whose leaves reach two meters in length.
A playground is equipped for children, the Palmengarten-Express mini-railway is 650 meters long, a children's kiosk with drinks and ice cream is open.
In summer, the garden, in the open air, hosts the annual Jazz im Palmengarten jazz festival.
