Residence Kehlsteinhaus
Kehlsteinhaus, Eagle's Nest
Germany, Bad Reichenhall
The Kehlsteinhaus residence is a small house located on a mountaintop in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria. The house was built in 1937-1938 by order of the NSDAP party as a gift for the 50th anniversary of Adolf Hitler. A road with a total length of 6.5 km leads to the tea house and passes through five tunnels. The last tunnel, located on the main site, ends at an elevator finished in bronze and equipped at that time with an ultra-fast mechanism that allows you to overcome 124 meters in 41 seconds. Today, inside the residence there is a small gallery with historical photographs, a restaurant and a cafe.
