The Krkonoše National Park is located in the Krkonoše Mountains, also known as the Giant Mountains. The park was founded in 1963 and covers an area of more than 36,000 hectares.
Despite the small territory, the mountains are very rich in flora. More than a thousand varieties of plants have been discovered here, which is about half of the original flora of the Czech Republic. The Krkonoše National Park is part of the UNESCO Biosphere Conservation.
On the territory of the national park there are ski resorts Spindlerov Mlyn, Janske Lazne, Harrachov.
