Troy Castle

Trojský zámek, Troja Palace
Czech republic, Prague
Troja Castle is the first summer country palace in Prague. It was built in the eponymous suburb of Prague on the banks of the Vltava in 1679–91 by the imperial counts of Sternberg according to the baroque project of the French emigrant Jean-Baptiste Matei. Currently, paintings by Czech artists of the 19th century are exhibited within the walls of the building, as well as a wine museum.

Still, buying my first guide to Prague, I could not understand why the castle? Then, when I was at the zoo, I also saw something out of the corner of my eye, but again I was not particularly impressed, a little one. Troy Castle is definitely worth a visit. Exterior view and park around - free. All the beauty of the park is best seen from the church of St. Clary. The castle on the entrance side of the bus stop looks quite modest, you need to turn to the courtyard to see all the beauty of this building.
