The Estates Theater is one of the oldest opera houses in Prague, built in 1783 by order of the Czech aristocrat Franz Nostitz-Rinek. The theater is located in Stare Mesto, next to the Carolinum building, on Fruit Market Square. The architecture of the building has the characteristic features of the neoclassical style, the theater is one of the few European buildings that has retained its original appearance to this day. The Estates Theater became famous for the premieres of Mozart's operas Don Giovanni and Mercy of Titus, which were personally conducted by the author himself, took place on its stage.
Now, plays by Czech and foreign playwrights are staged within the walls of the theater, but Mozart's works still occupy an important part in the repertoire.

"Cloak of Conscience"

Were only outside. The street is narrow, it is difficult to choose a place to take pictures. At the corner of the theater is a sculpture "Cloak of Conscience". The bronze monument in the form of an empty cloak without a face and hands was erected in 2000. Similar sculptures are also found in Salzburg, Austria, and Athens, Greece. The author of these works is the famous Czech sculptor Anna Chromi, a student of Salvador Dali himself and the first woman to receive the Michelangelo Prize - the most prestigious award given to sculptors.→

Magical evening at the theater

As a musician, the mere thought that I was in the theater where Mozart first showed the public "Don Giovanni" delighted me. The theater is very impressive: so small, and so well preserved, that you can actually think you are in the 18th century. The big surprise for me was the singers and musicians who proved to be exceptional professionals. I don't know why, but I didn't expect this! The performance deserved the highest rating. It was a magical evening =)→
